What is "Humanity First at Mac?"
Humanity First at McMaster is a non-profit, 100% volunteer based, humanitarian relief organization run by the students of McMaster University--now also a registered club under the McMaster Students' Union (MSU).
We were conceived upon recognizing the growing and immediate needs of the socially and economically disadvantaged members of society. We hope to relieve suffering caused by human conflict and natural disaster, promote peace and understanding, and strengthen peoples capacity to help themselves.
Our aim here at McMaster is to start a movement of social change fuelled by the youth to serve the less fortunate members of our local community and of remote communities, by fostering the ideals of volunteerism and service. Humanity First promotes community togetherness and seeks to build stronger communities, in which individuals are engaged and in-tuned in helping those in need. We hope to continue to expand our horizons with the support of our students in order better serve those in need.
Throughout the year, we organize various events such as "Feed the Homeless", clothing drives and food drives. Many exciting NEW activities and events are in store for this upcoming year. Joining our energetic and passionate team couldn't be easier: sign up here! And don't forget to join our Facebook group here.
And remember at McMaster we have big hearts, so it is always the time to serve!
