Humanity First has been known for its Feed the Homeless event because of its huge success! It involves going to various homeless shelters in downtown Hamilton to serve fresh pizzas and beverages as well as distributing food on the streets. This is one of our biggest events, and every time we organize it, we have around 20-30 students who come to volunteer. Through this event, we aim to make a positive impact on our local community and also give students an opportunity to be a part of this unique experience. Feed the Homeless

Waffle Wednesdays!

Waffle Wednesday is one of Humanity First’s major fundraising events where we serve fresh waffles along with fresh fruits to around 200-300 students on campus. The event is held in MSU Clubspace from 8am to 4pm. Throughout the event, we encourage student participation by allowing students to come volunteer in various activities such as promotions, serving waffles, or cutting fresh fruits. Waffle Wednesday has allowed us to raise a significant amount of money which was used towards our water well project and Philippines Typhoon Relief. Currently, we are looking to expand and improve our upcoming Waffle Wednesday, so make sure to come check it out!

Water For Life

Humanity First, along with the students of McMaster university, helped to raise money for our Water for Life project. With your help we were able to get closer in making this water well a reality and raised a total of $400 towards our goal!

Philippines Disaster Relief

Millions of lives were struck by the devastation of Typhoon Haiyan. Individuals were left homeless, injured and many lost their loved ones in this catastrophe. Humanity First at McMaster, with the help of McMaster students, raised money for disaster relief in the Philippines. The funds collected went to Humanity First Canada and provided medical aid and emergency care to the individuals affected by the typhoon. With your support, we were able to make a difference and put Humanity FIRST!

Dodge! For a Good Cause 2014

This year, the MSU collaborated with Humanity First to help host the 5th Annual Dodge! For a Good Cause! charity dodgeball tournament. It is McMaster’s largest dodgeball event and as a university we raised money to help reach our goal of building a water well for a community in need in Nigeria. It was a great opportunity to get involved, have a good time with your friends AND contribute to a good cause!

Hotdogs for Humanity!

We are collaborating with Willy Dog McMaster to raise funds for our Water for Life project to build a water well in a remote community in Nigeria. Make sure you come by the Willy Dog McMaster stall and ask that 50 cents of your purchase to be donated to Humanity First! Willy Dog McMaster is also going to match total donations up to a maximum of 250$.
